Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years in maintenance, solid basic math, and proficiency with computer systems. This on-site position requires lifting, various shifts, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• One to two years post high school desirable, with three to five years' experience in maintenance.
• Have basic math skills and aptitude for the position. Able to read and write English language and demonstrate computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure repairs to fleet meet company standards with quality and cost efficiency to meet fleet cost per mile goals.
• Schedule units into and out of the shop to ensure dispatch availability.
• Review driver maintenance complaints and resolve issues.
• Delegate work assignments and monitor technician performance.
• Follow all company and safety policies and maintain minimal indirect labor hours.
• Audit warranty parts for correct paperwork and tagging.
• Coordinate with Service Manager on personnel issues and outside work.
• Open/close and review daily repair orders.

PURPOSE

To execute and ensure quality repairs of all Marten Transport Ltd. units. Ensure that completed repairs meet Department of Transportation regulations and provide local terminal with ready units for dispatch.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure all repairs made to fleet comply with company standards which includes high quality and low expense within a timely manner to meet company goals for fleets cost per mile.
• Ensure that all parts are expensed to a Marten unit.
• Responsible for scheduling of all units into and out of the shop to ensure availability for dispatch.
• Responsible for reviewing and resolving driver complaints on maintenance issues.
• Delegate work assignments as applicable
• Ensure that all company and safety policies are followed.
• Accountable for indirect labor hours accumulated by technicians to insure it is kept as low as possible.
• Monitor the performance of technicians to ensure proper work is completed.
• Performs additional duties and special projects as needed.
• Audit and confirm all warranty parts are tagged and have correct paperwork submitted.
• Oversee process so all empty trucks are available for new drivers.
• Open/ Close and review daily repair orders.
• Work with Service Manager on personnel issues including hiring, PTO, and disciplinary issues.
• Coordinate with Service Manager for any outside work.
• Other duties as assigned.

ABILITIES/SKILLS REQUIRED

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and be able to stand for long hours. Able to work various shifts and days.
