Job summary

Marten Transport, Ltd. is seeking a full-time maintenance technician to service and repair fleet equipment at our Texas facility. The role requires diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding components, performing preventive maintenance, and maintaining clean work areas.

You will also complete repair orders and participate in company training. Applicants should have high school education with post-high school training or 2+ years of tractor maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess mechanical skills and aptitude for the position.
• Ability to diagnose and repair equipment and rebuild components as needed.
• Experience with preventive maintenance inspections and completing repair orders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proficiency in the diagnosis and repair of all equipment.
• Maintain proficiency in rebuilding components on equipment.
• Effectively and efficiently perform preventive maintenance inspections.
• Complete all Repair Orders in a timely manner ensuring all labor and parts are charged to the appropriate unit.
• Attend all company-training classes, then retain and demonstrate what was instructed.
• Responsible for the cleanliness of the work area.
• Performs additional duties and special projects as needed.
• Return all unused parts to the parts room.
• Other duties as assigned.

To furnish quality major and minor in-house repairs to the fleet in a timely and efficient manner while complying with Marten Transport, Ltd. policy and procedure.

ABILITIES/SKILLS REQUIRED:

Must possess mechanical skills and aptitude for the position. Must be able to exhibit skills and knowledge

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and be able to stand for long hours. Must be able to work various shifts and days. Must be able to work in all types of climates including extreme hot and cold.

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:

High School Education with one year post high school training preferred or two plus years’ experience in tractor maintenance.
