Job description

The Piledriver Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of construction workers on a construction site. They must ensure the job is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. The foreman plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of the crew and himself while meeting daily production targets set by the company. He should possess advanced skills and expertise in all aspects of his work, including cost control, scheduling, specifications, and claims management. Additionally, he is responsible for handling various documentation such as timesheets, production reports, labor reports, men-hour reports, and other essential documents.

This candidate will start at the Golden Glades Interchange project and later move to the Boynton Beach Blvd. project.

Responsibilities

  1. Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making adjustments as necessary due to weather, supply delivery, and personnel availability.
  2. Sustaining daily safety meetings with all crew members at the beginning of each job activity.
  3. Clarifying and explaining construction means and methods to all crew members during daily activities.
  4. Delegating responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors.
  5. Providing adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, safety needs, and best practices.
  6. Emphasizing the safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment, including safety gear and procedures.
  7. Resolving conflicts or miscommunications promptly and amicably.
  8. Reporting project status regularly to supervisors.
  9. Maintaining a clean and organized work area, promoting good housekeeping practices.

Qualifications

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of roles and personnel.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and plans.
  • Thorough understanding of legal requirements related to construction and building sites.
  • Knowledge of quality building practices.
  • Quick problem identification and resolution skills.
  • Familiarity with DOT specs and requirements, especially for roadway and MOT operations.
  • High School Diploma (some college or trade school preferred).
  • At least four years of experience in the building trade.
