Job summary

7-Eleven is seeking an experienced engineering leader to guide the design, development, and deployment of forecourt applications and services. You will direct architecture for embedded and cloud-native components, ensuring scalable, secure, and reliable solutions across dispenser hardware, payment integrations, and media systems.

In this role, you will mentor engineers, drive security practices (TPM2, LUKS, Secure Boot, fwupd), and align with product, IT strategy, and field operations to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years relevant work experience.
• 5+ years management experience.
• Experience with fuel dispenser platforms (Gilbarco, Wayne/Dover, Invenco) or dispenser communication protocols (CRIND, SPOT, Conexxus).
• Experience with TPM2, LUKS disk encryption, Secure Boot, or fwupd security on embedded Linux fleets.
• Experience with PCI/P2PE compliance for payment-adjacent systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers responsible for designing and improving forecourt applications and services.
• Guide architecture for forecourt and cloud-connected retail platform designs emphasizing performance, reliability, and cost.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across embedded Linux, Java, Python, Node.js, REST APIs, and AWS serverless patterns.
• Oversee integration with fuel dispenser hardware and OEM platforms and protocols.
• Drive dispenser payment and media integration work including display protocols and secure device communication.
• Own security posture across devices including PCI/P2PE compliance and firmware updates.
