Job summary

Amazon's Central Science Team (PXTCS) seeks an Applied Scientist to build forecasting and prediction models for workforce planning at scale. You will own models from prototype to production, collaborate with economists for causal estimates, and work with engineers to deploy in live systems.

You will design experiments, analyze performance, and communicate results to planning, compensation, or finance partners while expanding coverage to new sites and business lines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of building models for business applications.
• PhD or Master’s degree with 4+ years in CS/CE/ML or related field.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop forecasting and prediction models for workforce planning.
• Build models and production-ready algorithms; support them in production.
• Collaborate with economists to connect forecasts with causal estimates of policy levers.
• Extend models to new sites, shifts, and business lines as the platform expands.
• Translate business problems into modeling approaches and drive technical design with partners.
