Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Project Controls Analyst to partner with Project Managers and Finance leaders to enhance the project controls framework across the full lifecycle of projects. The role emphasizes financial predictability, transparency, and proactive controls to support contracts and revenue recognition.

The position requires 1–4+ years in project controls or related fields, strong analytical skills, and advanced Excel with BI tool familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field.
• 1–4+ years of experience in project controls, FP&A, project management, or project accounting.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with financial systems or BI tools.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Support project initiation, handoff, change orders, extensions, and project closeout activities.
• Develop, maintain, and analyze detailed project financial forecasts.
• Track actuals vs. budget and forecast, identifying variances and risks early and recommending corrective actions.
• Monitor PO Burndowns and flag projects at risk of running out of funding.
• Review client contracts and pricing models to validate alignment with project setup, billing structure, and revenue recognition methodology.
• Support earned value management (EVM) and other performance measurement techniques as applicable.
• Produce regular and ad-hoc project financial reports and dashboards for leadership and stakeholders.
• Provide clear insights into project health, financial risks, and trends to support informed decision-making.
• Identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy, reporting efficiency, and financial controls.
