A Specialist shall be able to perform the following operations or tasks provided they are properly trained:
- Normal vehicle maintenance and fluid exchanges including transmission and differential services, air filter replacements, spark plug and wire replacements, tire replacements, rotations, alignments, wiper blades.
- All exterior and interior lens, bulbs, trim, and switches.
- Alternator, belts, battery replacement and/or cable cleaning.
- All coolant hose replacements including R&R radiator and surge tank.
- All shocks, struts, sway bar links, mounts, hydraulic steering gears, and hub bearings.
- Addressing rattles, squeaks, aligning windows/moldings for leaks, wind noise, and water leaks.
- Remove and replace wiper motor and transmission, washer pump and hose replacement.
- Headlamp alignment and replacement.
- Exhaust R&R or replacement, including gaskets and exhaust converters.
- Hub bearing and/or hub bearing assembly replacement.
- Exterior and interior mirror replacements.
- Pre-delivery inspections and all work on internal used cars and trucks.
- Recalls and campaigns they are trained to perform.
- Front/rear brake replacement, caliper, rotor, and drum turning or replacement.
Description of the role:
The Ford Vehicle Service Technician at Jack Schmitt Ford is responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks on Ford vehicles. This role requires a Specialist Level or greater expertise in fixing vehicle issues, ensuring that all repairs are done efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Performing regular maintenance tasks on Ford vehicles, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements.
- Updating service records and creating detailed repair reports.
- Collaborating with other team members to ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
Requirements:
- Specialist Level or greater expertise in diagnosing and repairing Ford vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license.
- ASE certifications are a plus.
