Job summary

Ford is seeking an experienced Interior Design & Release engineer to lead the design, release, and delivery of interior components for Ford Racing on a new model program. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage QCWFT, and drive collaboration with suppliers to meet performance and regulatory standards.

The role requires a BS in Engineering, 5+ years in body interior design/release (including one completed program), and CAD/tool experience (3DX, CATIA, Teamcenter).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • 5+ years of Body Interior Design & Release experience including delivery of 1 completed program.
  • 2+ years of experience using CAD or visualization tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, release, and delivery of components and systems across multiple interior commodities for Ford Racing on an upcoming new model program.
  • Manage Quality, Cost, Weight, Function and Timing (QCWFT) to support program & engineering GPDS milestones.
  • Lead FSS (Full-Service Suppliers) and/or other internal/external resources to deliver subject program.
  • Manage design and color/material studio interfaces to deliver to customer expectations.
  • Assure conformance to the Ford Racing DNA and all applicable Ford & regulatory requirements.
  • Develop innovative solutions for high-performance vehicles and our enthusiast customers.
  • Support issue resolution and design change management during the prototype build and launch builds.
  • Interface and maintain collaborative relationship with Core Body Interior Engineering Organization.

Job description

In this position you will be responsible for the design and release of multiple interior products on the most exciting vehicles Ford Racing produces. You will manage multiple cross functional relationships both internally and externally to help ensure the successful launch of the next generation, segment defining products.

What you'll do...
  • Lead the design, release, and delivery of components and systems across multiple interior commodities for Ford Racing on an upcoming new model program

You’ll have...
  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering required
  • 5+ Years of experience in Body Interior Design & Release, including delivery of 1 completed program
  • 2 Years of experience using CAD or other visualization tools
  • Understanding of program delivery processes / GPDS
  • Working knowledge of 3DX, Teamcenter, Vis Mockup, CATIA, DFMEA, FEDE, FEDEBOM, WERS
  • Fabrication/mockup skills to demonstrate proof of concept
  • Independent self-starter that can connect analytical tools with physical hardware and vehicle performance
  • Passion for performance vehicles
  • Launch experience preferred

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900.
This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.

Internal applicants: moving into this role may result in an adjustment to your current compensation based on the posted pay range for this role, taking into consideration your qualifications and other relevant factors.
