Job summary

adidas in Los Angeles, California is seeking a Digital Engineer Footwear - Pattern & Tooling ADV3D to bridge design and manufacturing across Statement LA & Streetwear NAM. You will lead patterning and tooling, translate designs into technical data, and collaborate with designers, developers, marketing and external partners to deliver high-quality prototypes.

The role requires at least 5 years in athletic footwear, a four-year engineering degree, strong CAD skills (Rhino, Grasshopper, Blender)

Qualifications

• Four-year college or engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years in athletic footwear industry, focusing on product development, pattern engineering, tooling or design.

Responsibilities

• Analyse designs for manufacturability, production efficiency, cost opportunities, and risks; offer feasible solutions.
• Own pattern and/or tooling creation by translating design information into technical data and prototyping.
• Provide advanced 2D and 3D CAD expertise in cross-functional projects with designers, developers and marketing.
• Ensure smooth transition from concept to inline process and product creation.
• Mentor new employees on adidas technical standards, processes and systems.
• Design and create using algorithmic and parametric methods with a focus on aesthetics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative products and experiences.
• Enable faster decision making through virtual prototyping and in-house sampling.
