Job summary

Sun & Ski Sports in Houston, Texas, is seeking a Footwear Coordinator to lead a store team and elevate the customer experience. You will open and close the store, deliver exceptional service, and train staff on selling strategies while promoting a positive, engaging shop floor environment.

Develop and execute creative sales plans using product knowledge, analyze performance, manage payroll and expenses, and ensure loss prevention. You’ll foster community engagement and act as a brand ambassador.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of management experience in retail.
• 2+ years of retail experience, preferably snow sports or related.
• Strong knowledge of business operations, inventory control, and shrink reduction strategies.
• Experience in recruiting, interviewing, training, and developing employees.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for vendor, buyer, team, and management relations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise store operations, including opening and closing the store.
• Provide exceptional customer service and exceed guest expectations.
• Train and develop staff on selling strategies and continuous improvement.
• Drive sales through product knowledge and enthusiastic leadership.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain strong communication with the General Manager, District Manager, and Home Office.
• Manage store expenses and payroll, and adapt plans based on evolving business needs.
• Oversee loss prevention efforts, minimizing shrink and ensuring accurate cash handling.

REQUIRMENTS

• 1+ years of management experience with the ability to motivate, lead, and develop a team.
• 2+ years of retail experience, preferably in snow sports or upscale patio furniture.
• Strong knowledge of business operations, inventory control, and shrink reduction strategies.
• Talent in recruiting, interviewing, training, and employee development.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for building effective relationships with vendors, buyers, team members, and upper management.
• Highly organized, with strong time management and multi-tasking capabilities.
• Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with strong attention to detail.
