Job summary

Sun & Ski Sports is seeking a driven Hardgoods Coordinator to lead the Bike & Snow departments and deliver exceptional customer experiences. You will guide a high-performing team, streamline operations, and promote engaging interactions that go beyond transactions.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of management experience leading a team.
• 2+ years of retail bike shop and snow sports industry experience.
• Outdoor enthusiast with passion for cycling, skiing/snowboarding, watersports, surfing, skating, and more.
• Proven networking, recruiting, interviewing, training, and team development skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to build relationships with vendors, teams, and leadership.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist with opening/closing the store as needed.
• Ensure the team delivers exceptional customer service and meets expectations.
• Provide high-quality bike service and maintain equipment performance.
• Train and develop team in effective selling strategies and continuous improvement.
• Develop strategic plans to increase department sales using data analysis and goals.
• Maintain a visually appealing department that meets company standards.
• Identify operational problems and present viable, results-oriented solutions.
• Ensure all employees follow company policies and procedures.
• Attend Bike & Snow clinics to maintain up-to-date product knowledge.
• Represent Sun & Ski Sports within local cycling and snow communities.
• Support bike and cycling events to strengthen community relationships.
• Maintain ongoing communication with Store Manager, District Manager, and Home Office.

SUMMARY

Sun & Ski Sports is looking for a driven and dynamic Hardgoods Coordinator to lead our Bike & Snow departments in delivering excellence. As a Coordinator, you'll lead and develop a high-performing team focused on revolutionizing the way we serve our customers. You’ll drive results by streamlining operations, inspiring your associates, and creating an atmosphere that’s not just about transactions — but memorable, meaningful interactions. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve in a supervisory capacity, including opening and closing the store as needed.
• Ensure your team consistently delivers exceptional customer service, exceeding expectations.
• Provide high-quality and timely bike service, maintaining the integrity and performance of all equipment.
• Train and develop team members in effective selling strategies and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
• Create and implement strategic plans to increase department sales using data analysis and goal setting.
• Maintain a visually appealing department that meets company standards and inspires customers.
• Identify operational problems and opportunities, and present viable, results-oriented solutions.
• Ensure all employees follow company policies and procedures.
• Attend Bike & Snow clinics (in-store and off-site) to maintain up-to-date product knowledge.
• Represent and promote Sun & Ski Sports within the local cycling and snow sports communities.
• Support and participate in bike and cycling events, strengthening community relationships.
• Maintain ongoing communication with the Store Manager, District Manager, and Home Office to align with company initiatives.
• Uphold Loss Prevention standards, minimizing inventory loss and maintaining accurate cash control.

REQUIREMENTS

• 1+ years of management experience, with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
• 2+ years of retail bike shop and snow sports industry experience, with working knowledge of business operations and shrink reduction.
• Outdoor Enthusiast with a passion for cycling, skiing/snowboarding, water sports, surfing, swimming, skating, skateboarding, and more!
• Proven talent in networking, recruiting, interviewing, training, and team development.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build strong relationships with vendors, buyers, store teams, and upper management.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to multi-task effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
