Job summary

Wa-Nee Community Schools is seeking a head coach to organize and supervise the district's total sports program. The ideal candidate has substantial coaching experience in the assigned sport and deep knowledge of technical aspects, while continually pursuing new theories and best practices.

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (Major sports).
• Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and willingness to stay updated with new theories.
• Serves as a positive role model for student athletes through instruction and actions.

Responsibilities

• Know and implement Wa-Nee Community Schools athletic policies by the staff.
• Understand and apply existing system, state and league regulations; interpret them for staff.
• Follow proper administrative command and refer requests through proper channels.
• Mentor athletes to develop character traits (trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, citizenship).
• Oversee staff conferences, clinics and development; supervise assistants and evaluate staff effectiveness.
• Assist Athletic Director in scheduling, transportation and tournament preparation; manage equipment and facilities.
• Promote sports through community and media; maintain good public relations with stakeholders.
