Tek Express is seeking skilled commercial cooking equipment technicians in Newark, NJ to diagnose, repair and maintain ovens, fryers, steamers and warmers. You will document service calls, communicate timelines to customers, and participate in on-call rotations.

• 3+ years of commercial cooking equipment repair experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong gas and/or electric troubleshooting experience.
• Solid understanding of mechanical systems and electrical components.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial cooking equipment, including ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, and warmers.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure safe and efficient equipment operation.
• Test components and verify proper operation after repairs.
• Accurately document service calls, parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions in the company system.
• Clearly communicate repair status, recommendations, and timelines to customers.
• Manage truck inventory to ensure proper parts and tools are stocked.
• Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Represent the company professionally while delivering high-quality customer service.
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies.
• Participate in ongoing technical training and professional development opportunities.
• Participate in an on-call rotation as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial cooking equipment, including ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, and warmers.

Perform preventative maintenance to ensure safe and efficient equipment operation.

Test components and verify proper operation after repairs.

Accurately document service calls, parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions in the company system.

Qualifications

3+ years of commercial cooking equipment repair experience preferred.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.

Strong gas and/or electric troubleshooting experience.

Solid understanding of mechanical systems and electrical components.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.

Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and crawl in tight quarters.

Must own industry-standard hand tools.

Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation as needed.

Compensation Transparency

The advertised pay range for this position is $30-$40 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience level, technical certifications, skill set, and overall qualifications. Candidates with advanced expertise in commercial hot-side equipment may be considered toward the higher end of the range.
