Compass Group USA is currently seeking a full-time Food Unit Lead for Pittsburgh, PA. You will coordinate activities of food-service staff and create an enjoyable dining experience for customers, staff and visitors.

The role requires 2–5 years of high-volume restaurant experience, food service and cooking. Schedule includes flex shifts with weekends; full benefits and growth opportunities are discussed during interview.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of high-volume restaurant experience is required.
• Experience in food service and cooking is preferred.
• Flexibility to work weekends and varied shifts may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality customer service by providing one-on-one attention to detail.
• Oversees and participates in the preparation and service of food and beverage items in accordance with company standards for presentation, sanitation, safety and portion control.
• Ensures timely, efficient meal service; supervises serving of meals.
• Responds to customer complaints in person and via email for electronic complaints.
• Trains employees; assigns and coordinates work of employees to promote efficiency and excellence in food and service.
• Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites work flow; uses daily/weekly/monthly reports.
• Responsible for proper cash handling as established by the Food Accounting Manual.
• Orders food and other necessary supplies from approved sources or purveyors.
• Directs and participates in sanitation and safety of the facility and employees.
• Develops sanitation schedules and ensures compliance.
• Issues written and oral instructions; helps orient employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
