Job summary

Homewood Living Williamsport is seeking a full-time staff member to assist in the operation of the Dietary Department in a senior living community. The role supports menu planning, dietary assessments, and coordination with residents and coworkers to ensure quality service.

Required are a high school diploma and completion of a dietary program; duties include inventory, meal planning, staff orientation, and adherence to regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent with dietary program completion.
• Ability to relate and communicate with residents, staff and the public.
• Supervisory experience and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the operation of the Dietary Department in a specific area or for the overall department.
• Takes measures to keep information about residents, their condition, and family confidential.
• Complies with corporate and departmental policies and procedures and maintains standards.
• Assists in writing cycle menus, diet modifications, dietary assessments, and care plans.
• Ensures timely updates to menus within the Volante system.
• Assists in administrative functions of the department.
• Assists in supervising and orienting co-workers.
• Assists in planning and setting up special functions.
• Assists in ordering, receiving, and inventory control of supplies and equipment.
• Maintains compliance with regulations governing handling and storage of food and equipment.
• Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor.

Job Summary

Assists in the operation of the Dietary Department in a specific area or for the overall department.

Essential Functions

• Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as well as personnel matters as confidential information.
• Complies with established Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures, and maintains established standards and practices.
• Assists in writing cycle menus, diet modifications, dietary assessments, and care plans.
• Ensures accurateand timely updates to daily menus within the Volante system.
• Assists in administrative functions of the department.
• Assists in supervising and the orientation of co-workers.
• Assists in planning and set-up of special functions.
• Assists in ordering, receiving, and inventory control of supplies and equipment.
• Maintains compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing the handling and storage of food, food supplies, equipment, and work environment.
• Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent graduate with a completion of a dietary program such as certified dietary manager or culinary arts program.
• Ability to relate and communicate with co-workers, residents, and the public in a friendly and professional manner.
• Displays initiative and motivation.
• Standing and walking short distances intermittently during an eight hour shift.
• Must be able to lift and transfer 30 pounds.
• Computer and clerical skills preferred.
• Supervisory experience and organizational skills required.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to constantly work on their feet during an 8 hour shift; bend, stoop, twist, and turn constantly throughout the shift in performing regular duties. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds frequently throughout the shift. Ability to do repeated pushing of food tray carts.
