Job summary

Windsor Locks Public Schools is seeking a Second Cook to support operations at South Street School. Under the Director of Food Services, you will assist in daily meal preparation while ensuring sanitation guidelines are followed.

Key duties include food storage, receiving weekly Sysco orders, cashier responsibilities, and adherence to the Respect for Fair treatment policy. High school diploma or GED and ServSafe certification are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; experience preferred.
• ServSafe Certification is required and provided by our lunch program.
• Recertification is required every three years.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete operation as Second Cook at South Street School.
• Assist the cook manager with daily menu and sanitation requirements.
• Assist in receiving weekly Sysco orders and proper food storage.
• Cashier handling and other tasks as directed by the cook manager.
• Adhere to the Respect for Fair treatment policy.

Position Start Date: ASAP

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Food Services, is responsible for the following:

• Responsible for the complete operation as Second Cook at South Street School. Assist the cook manager as instructed for the completion of daily menu adhering to established sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Proper storage of food delivered to include assisting in receiving the weekly Sysco grocery order. Ensure proper customer and client relations are maintained at all times.
• Cashier handling, complete other tasks/directives as instructed and deemed reasonable by cook manager or food service director.
• Adhere to the Respect of Fair treatment policy.

Qualifications: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); previous experience preferred. ServSafe Certification is required and provided by our lunch program. Every three years employee must get recertified.

Pay Rate: Salary and benefits per contract. Probationary period is 90 working days at which time the pay will increase per the contract.

Days/Hours: Monday through Friday 7:15am - 1:45pm
