Job description

Position contingent upon contract award

As the Food Services Manager, you will oversee the entire food service operation across the program, managing chefs and all related food service personnel. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and smooth delivery of food services, including ordering, shipment, and inventory management of food and water.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee the entire food service operations at the facility, including food inventory and ordering, food preparation, food quality and safety, and related services.
  • Manage a team of chefs and food service personnel.
  • Collaborate with the Food Service Program Manager to develop and supervise the team regarding production, quality, and control.
  • Provide day-to-day management, including planning, directing, and coordinating food service activities, and provide feedback to the Program Manager.
  • Ensure consistent food quality and operational standards at the facility.
  • Maintain safety and sanitation standards in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist in planning catering and events requiring food service at the facility.
  • Interact with clients and customers to ensure expectations for quality, presentation, and cost are met, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Identify innovative ways to increase efficiency, improve customer satisfaction, and reduce costs.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or Associate's degree in Culinary Arts.
  • Over five years of management experience in food service operations.
  • ServSafe Manager Certification.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of food and catering services, trends, quality, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation.
  • Experience managing all aspects of food service.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
