Hospice Home Care
This position is responsible for the daily operation/management of the Dietary, Housekeeping, and Laundry Departments in the Comfort Care Center. Ensures facility meets all federal, state and local requirements. This is designated as a safety sensitive position.
· Coordinates the operation of the kitchen to ensure that food is prepared and served in a safe, sanitary manner according to sanitary regulations. Supervises employees and spot checks meal preparation, food service and clean up on all shifts. · Responsible for maintaining food temperature logs. · Implements/directs a maintenance program for the kitchen that ensures equipment is maintained in a safe, clean, sanitary manner and replaced/repaired as needed. · Plans menus and procures food in appropriate quantities to meet the needs of the patients. Submits invoices to Office manager weekly from food delivery. · Makes sure we always have a food reserve in case of inclement weather or a disaster. · Reconciles and manages money collected for meals prepared by kitchen for employees and patient family members. · Schedules dietary staff and assures that enough personnel are available to carry out the daily function of the kitchen. · Provides ongoing training/in-service for personnel in the kitchen. · Participates on facility committees as required. · Implements and maintains a system for keeping records. · Operates kitchen within budget guidelines. · Maintains strict confidentiality of patient and family information. · Check expiration dates on food. · Handles patient and family complaints concerning food preparation. · Makes sure that prep book with menus has pictures of how each meal should be presented and served at IPU facility. · Performs employee evaluations and write-ups with collaboration from clinical manager. · Always Keep kitchen survey ready. · Coordinates the orientation of new personnel in dietary, and demonstrates working knowledge of federal, state and local regulations as it relates to the Comfort Care Center. Ensures policies, procedures and practice reflect substantial compliance with regulations. · Performs other related duties as assigned by the Clinical Manager or Executive Director in a timely fashion. |
