Job summary

Garfield Park Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a part-time Food Services Associate to ensure quality meals for patients, staff, and visitors in a hospital setting. You will prepare patient snacks, set trays, serve staff meals, and assist in beverages and desserts while maintaining a safe, sanitary environment according to policy and regulatory standards.

Candidates should have experience in hospital food service or educational programs, and a High School Diploma is preferred.

Job Summary

Assures that quality food services are rendered to patients, employees, visitors, Medical Staff, and other allied health professionals in accordance with the standards, rules and regulations of all regulatory agencies and established Hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Assures the maintenance of a safe and sanitary environment. Prepares patient snacks, sets patient trays, serves staff meals, assists in preparation and service of beverages, vegetables, salads and desserts as assigned.

Qualifications

Work Schedule:

Part-time (20 hours/week). Requires 6-hour shifts between 6:00 AM and 6:30 PM, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Education

High School Diploma preferred

Experience

Training and experience in quantity food preparation in a hospital, long term care, or with educational food service programs

Working Conditions

Works in kitchen, serving line, dining room, food storage areas and other areas of the hospital. Hazards include falls, cuts, burns, and risks associated with the use of electrical equipment and cleaning chemicals.

Physical Requirements:

Push pull and lift up to 40 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, bending, lifting and walking.
