Job summary

Brevard Achievement Center is hiring a Food Service Worker for Patrick Space Force Base Riverside Dining. The role focuses on food service tasks, cleaning, and assisting with kitchen operations in a dining facility. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to pass background checks and drug screening.

Preferred candidates have up to 6 months of food service experience and reliable transportation. Training on food safety and equipment handling will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• No minimum experience required.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have or be able to obtain Rood Handlers Certificate within 3 months of date of hire.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must be able to pass a background screening for access to work areas.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
• 6 months of Food Service experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and polish floors; dispose of waste appropriately.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for assuring assigned job tasks are completed within contract time frames and quality standards.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Clean equipment in kitchen and dining area
  • Clean dining tables, wash dishes, pots, pans, coffee urns, glasses, and flatware.
  • Sweep, mop, and polish floors.
  • Dispose of food waste and trash.
• Assist in unloading supply trucks and storing supplies.

Supervisory Responsibility:

• None

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• No minimum experience required.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have or be able to obtain Rood Handlers Certificate within 3 months of date of hire.

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE (IF APPLICABLE)

• Must be authorized to access and work on government installations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Requirements will vary depending on the assigned tasks.
• Prolonged standing and walking.
• Lifting/moving up to 40 pounds.
• Manual dexterity to operate computerized POS system and handle cash.
• These requirements can be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Tasks are regularly performed inside with little chance for exposure to adverse environmental conditions (e.g., dirt, heat, rain, fumes). Occasional, short-term exposure to cold while working in walk in refrigerator.

Availability: Monday & Tuesday, 8am-2:30pm, Thursday & Friday, 8am-2:30pm, Sunday, 11am-7:30pm
