Job summary

Glade Run Lutheran Services is seeking a part-time Food Service Worker for a 10-month position aligned with the school calendar in Zelienople, PA. Hours are Monday through Friday, 5:30am to 1:30pm (1–3 days per week) with occasional weekends as needed.

Responsibilities include meal prep, service, and maintaining safe food handling practices. Qualifications include basic English literacy, ability to lift 35 lbs, and prior food service experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old and obtain a work permit if applicable.
• Experience in food service production is desirable.
• Excellent customer service and ability to communicate with students, teachers and staff.
• Capable of using scales and other food production equipment.
• Capable of understanding and using standardized recipes and production sheets.
• Able to operate a point-of-sale cashier system.
• Able to read and write English and perform simple arithmetic.
• Good manual dexterity and ability to work under pressure.
• Able to lift at least 35 lbs and stand 7–8 hours.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Able to align with the agency mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and serving meals according to production documents.
• Maintain HACCP/ServSafe compliance and department policies.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained properly.
• Keep workstation orderly and maintain sanitation throughout the department.

• Position Summary:** The Food Service Worker is a 10-month position based on the established school calendar with daylight scheduling during the week. Hours include Mondays-Fridays(1-3 days per week) from 5:30am to 1:30pm.

• Must have the capacity to grasp the proper use of scales and other food production equipment. Equipment and tools may be restricted as to comply with all child labor laws as applicable.
• Must have the capacity to comprehend and utilize standardized recipes and production sheets.
• Must have the capacity to operate a point of sale cashier system.
• Must be able to read and write English, do simple arithmetic, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Manual dexterity and ability to work under pressure.
• Must be able to lift at least 35 lbs.
• Must be capable of standing on feet for 7-8 hours at a time.
• Must have valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

• Ensures all HACCP and ServSafe regulations are being adhered to as well as Glade Run Lutheran Services' policies, procedures, and management directives.
• Ensures that all equipment is used, maintained, and cleaned properly.
• Ensures an orderly workstation and overall department cleanliness by performing various sanitation duties.
• Report any problems, injuries or disturbances to management.

• Position Type:** Part Time (These are 10-Month positions following the school calendar) with M-F hours from 5:30am -1:30pm (1-3 days per week)
