Job summary

Glade Run Lutheran Services in Zelienople, PA is seeking a Food Service Worker for a 10-month school calendar position. Hours are Monday through Friday, 5:30am to 1:30pm, with an August 4, 2025 start date. A $1,000 new hire incentive bonus is available for eligible hires.

This role focuses on food preparation, safe service, and sanitation under HACCP and ServSafe guidelines. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service, ability to read recipes, operate a POS, lift up to 35 lbs, and work

• Prior experience in food service production is desirable.
• Excellent customer service skills and positive interaction with students, teachers, staff, etc.
• Ability to grasp use of scales and other food production equipment.
• Ability to read standardized recipes and production sheets.
• Ability to operate a point of sale cashier system.
• Must read/write English, do simple arithmetic, and follow instructions.
• Must be able to lift at least 35 lbs and stand 7–8 hours.
• Must have valid driver's license and driving record.
• Ability to support agency mission and values, with required clearances.

Position Summary:

The Food Service Worker is a 10-month position based on the established school calendar with daylight scheduling during the week. Hours include Mondays-Fridays from 5:30am to 1:30pm. We are anticipating an August 4th start date for the start of the 2025-2026 school year.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 16 years of age. Must obtain work permit, if applicable. Prior experience in food service production is desirable.
• Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to communicate and interact positively with students, teachers, staff, etc.
• Must have the capacity to grasp the proper use of scales and other food production equipment. Equipment and tools may be restricted as to comply with all child labor laws as applicable.
• Must have the capacity to comprehend and utilize standardized recipes and production sheets.
• Must have the capacity to operate a point of sale cashier system.
• Must be able to read and write English, do simple arithmetic, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Manual dexterity and ability to work under pressure.
• Must be able to lift at least 35 lbs.
• Must be capable of standing on feet for 7-8 hours at a time.
• Must have valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to identify with the agency Mission Statement and support the agency's Core Values.
• Must have acceptable PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse History clearance and FBI clearance.
• Must be reliable, adaptable, and organized. Must display good judgment, initiative, cooperation, and positive work behavior.

KNOWLEDGE AREAS:

Food safety guidelines such as HACCP and ServSafe.

Working knowledge and experience involved in foodservice aspects such as food preparation, service, sanitation, equipment, and safety.
