Job summary

Nevada Community School District in Nevada, Iowa is seeking a Part-time Food Service General Worker to join our team. The position offers 4-hour days between 7am-2pm, Monday through Friday, with training provided.

Responsibilities include meal preparation, serving, cleaning, and maintaining records. Prior food service experience is preferred and ServSafe certification is recommended; paid training to obtain certification is provided after 6 months of service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Food service experience preferred.
• ServSafe Certification recommended; District will provide paid training after 6 months of service.

• Assist in cooking, preparing and serving daily meals from the planned menu.
• Assist with cleaning and following food safety procedures.
• Fill out proper production records and food safety logs.
• Maintain compliance with federal regulations regarding all School Lunch Programs.
• Interact with staff, students, building patrons, inspectors, vendors and delivery persons with a positive attitude.
• Operate all kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to lift 30 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Check in students at meal service on POS system.
• Prepare lunch account deposits.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Nevada Community School District is looking for a part time Food Service General Worker to join our team at NCSD! This position begins as soon as possible with flexible 4 hour days between 7am-2pm Monday through Friday. Training will be provided.
