Job summary

Nevada Community School District is seeking two Food Service General Workers to join our team in Nevada, Iowa. The positions run from 7am to 2pm, Monday through Friday, with training provided and start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities include cooking, preparing and serving daily meals from the planned menu; maintaining food safety procedures; and assisting with production records and logs. High school diploma or GED required; ServSafe certification recommended.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ServSafe Certification recommended; District will provide paid training after 6 months of service.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cooking, preparing and serving daily meals from the planned menu.
• Assist with cleaning and following food safety procedures.
• Fill out proper production records and food safety logs.
• Maintain compliance with federal regulations regarding all School Lunch Programs.
• Interact with personnel, students, building patrons, inspectors, vendors and delivery persons with a positive can do attitude.
• Operate all kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to lift 30 lbs and stand on your feet for long periods of time.
• Check in students at meal service on POS system.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
