Job summary

Trinity Services Group seeks a Food Service Supervisor to oversee inmate labor and the kitchen team inside a correctional facility in Hollister, CA. You will prepare and serve meals following recipes and menus, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.

Reporting to the Food Service Director, you will train staff and ensure a safe, compliant work environment. A high school diploma or GED and being 18+ are required; prior institutional food service is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Preferred prior institutional food service experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and kitchen staff during food prep and service.
• Serve meals according to schedules and procedures.
• Cook using recipes and utensils to meet nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment.
• Stand for long periods and perform physical tasks as needed.

About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director.You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need
