Job summary

Trinity Services Group is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare and serve meals inside a jail/correctional facility. You will report to a Food Service Director and work onsite, following menus and safety rules to ensure quality and consistency.

The ideal candidate is passionate about food and service, with knowledge of food handling regulations. HS diploma or GED required, 18+, prior institutional food service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist with the preparation of quality foods according to menus and work instructions.
• Maintain a clean, food-safe workstation and perform cleaning duties.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules following procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook according to recipes.
• Follow all food safety regulations for sanitation and storage.
• Perform routine kitchen tasks while staying organized and clean.
• Stand for extended periods and assist with other duties as needed.

About This Position

The Food Service Worker prepares and serves a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus within a correctional setting.

You will report to a Food Service Director. This position is located onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions promptly.
• The duties of the Food Service Worker include, but are not limited to, cleaning as you go and maintaining a neat and food safe workstation, which you will clean and maintain. These responsibilities also include pulling trash, sweeping, and mopping.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes.
• Abide by all food safety regulations about sanitation, food handling and storage.
• Perform routine kitchen tasks, while being organized and clean.
• You will have physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred:

• Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
