Job summary

Trinity Services Group is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare and serve meals inside a correctional facility. Reports to a Food Service Director; onsite role within the jail setting.

Ideal candidate is passionate about food, understands food handling regulations, and is eager to learn, adapt, and work as a team. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent) and 18+ years old; preferred prior institutional food service experience.

• High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience. 18+ years old.
• Preferred: prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist team in quality foods per menu and recipes.
• Maintain a clean, food-safe workstation and pull trash, sweep and mop.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and per procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment to cook according to recipes.
• Abide by all food safety regulations on sanitation and storage.
• Perform routine kitchen tasks, stay organized and clean.
• Stand or be on your feet for extended shifts.
• Take on other duties as needed.

About This Position

$17/hr + $500 new hire bonus

The Food Service Worker prepares and serves a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus within a correctional setting.

You will report to a Food Service Director. This position is located onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions promptly.
• The duties of the Food Service Worker include, but are not limited to, cleaning as you go and maintaining a neat and food safe workstation, which you will clean and maintain. These responsibilities also include pulling trash, sweeping, and mopping.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes.
• Abide by all food safety regulations about sanitation, food handling and storage.
• Perform routine kitchen tasks, while being organized and clean.
• You will have physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

• Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience. Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Preferred:
  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
