Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is seeking qualified candidates to join our team. MCCS is a comprehensive program dedicated to supporting and enhancing the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others within the Marine Corps Community. We foster a team-oriented environment that includes military personnel, civilian employees, contractors, and volunteers, all working together to ensure the organization functions smoothly and effectively.
Skills and Knowledge: Ability to organize assignments logically, perform multi-step tasks, and exercise judgment in completing tasks accurately and on time. Ability to serve individual portions uniformly. Knowledge of weights and measurements, and skill in reading and following recipe cards for items such as spreads and dressings. Basic arithmetic skills and ability to interpret instructions. Working knowledge of sanitation procedures to prevent contamination, spoilage, and waste. Ability to assist lower-graded food service workers in completing their tasks.
Responsibility: The incumbent understands the sequence of steps needed to complete work tasks and follows specific oral or written instructions, especially when changes or new assignments occur. Uses judgment to ensure standards of sanitation, attractiveness, timeliness, safety, and service are met. Supervisors periodically verify that work is completed on time and according to instructions.
Physical Effort: The work involves light to moderate physical effort, including frequent lifting or moving objects, and constant standing and walking. Capable of lifting and carrying objects up to 45 lbs independently, and over 45 lbs with assistance.
Working Conditions: Work areas may be uncomfortably warm and noisy. Workers may be exposed to minor cuts, bruises, burns, and scalds. There is a risk of slipping on wet floors. Some work in extreme temperatures, such as hot kitchens and walk-in refrigerators.
