Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services in California State University-Channel Islands is hiring immediately for food service worker positions. We offer full-time and part-time schedules, with day and night availability, and an online application process.

As a Food Service Worker, you will prep, serve and present food, perform duties to meet safety standards, and interact with customers in a friendly, efficient manner.

Qualifications

• Experience in barista or food service is a plus.
• Prior food service leadership experience is advantageous.
• Ability to work full-time or part-time with weekday/weekend shifts.
• Willingness to follow safety and sanitation guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations while following safety standards.
• Stores food in designated areas with proper wrapping, dating and rotation.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Uses approved recipes and production standards to ensure quality and portions.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays information to supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with sanitation, safety and cash control procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
