TOPEKA PUBLIC SCHOOLS is seeking a dedicated kitchen staff member to prepare and serve food in a Middle or High School kitchen. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, and knowledge of food safety basics. Successful candidates will work 5-7.5 hours daily, ensuring cleanliness and efficiency in food service operations.

9 Month Calendar
Hourly wage and work year to be determined by the 501 Board of Education
Works 5-7.5 hours per day in a Middle or High School Kitchen
Must attend and successfully complete Food Safety Basics class within the first six months of employment, and once every 5 years
High School Diploma or GED
More advanced math skills, including multiplication and division
Ability to read and write the English language
Demonstrate knowledge of food safety basics
Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally
Ability to stand up to 7.5 hours
Knowledge of portion sizes
Ability to work well with others
To prepare and/or cook food in a kitchen, serve food to a cafeteria tray line, and perform cleaning activities. May assist in the effective overall operations of the Food and Nutrition Services Program at different kitchen locations as needed.
