**Food Service Worker II**

**Work Location:** Texas Health Arlington Memorial, 800 West Randol Mill Rd., Arlington, TX 76012

**Work Hours:** Full-Time; Rotating Shifts, Weekends, and Holidays

**Food Service Worker Department Highlights:**

**Qualifications**

**Here’s What You Need:**

  • **Education:** High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred.
  • **Experience:** Previous food service experience in a hospital setting preferred.
  • **Licenses and Certifications:** FHC - Food Handlers Certificate within 30 Days required.

**Skills:**

  • Reading, basic math, written language in English.
  • Cooperative, discreet, and courteous.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Positive customer service attributes.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.

**What You Will Do:**

  • Serve food on the cafeteria and patient tray lines, utilizing good customer skills when serving patrons. Assemble, deliver, and retrieve patient trays.
  • Document food delivery times and food tallies; perform other simple record keeping, such as temperature checks on equipment and food. Report variances from standards to supervisor.
  • Perform simple food assembly such as preparing salads, portioning, and garnishing foods according to instructions.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, wares, walls, and floors routinely.
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and all cooking utensils and equipment, according to department standards and procedures.
  • Label and date foods according to HACCP standards. Learn and follow HACCP sanitation guidelines for safe food handling. Take and record temperatures of food items, both raw and cooked, and refrigerated units. Demonstrate procedures when temperatures are inadequate. Understand and utilize the FIFO system of food production. Follow OSHA safety guidelines.
  • Collect and deliver floor stock utilizing FIFO, deliver between-meal nourishments, and late trays according to departmental standards.
  • Maintain assigned areas and equipment in a safe, clean, and orderly manner, meeting sanitation standards. Dispose of trash and garbage properly. Follow clean as you go and proper hand hygiene procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
