Job summary

University of Missouri - Columbia is seeking a Food Service Worker I to join Campus Dining Services. Responsibilities include basic food preparation, service, sanitation, and maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe working area.

You will assist in serving lines, train student workers, and ensure high-quality customer service across service areas. Hours vary by manager, with an anticipated hourly salary range and a focus on excellence and people.

Job Description

This position includes basic food preparation, service, and/or sanitation tasks. Prepare food according to instructions. Follow proper food handling techniques. Assist in completing the Serving Line Worksheets. Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and secure working area. Set up service/preparation areas as assigned. Provide high-quality service to customers; assist in meeting the department’s customer service objectives. Direct, help train, and assist student employees in food preparation and service. Clean and replenish the service/preparation areas, dining room, and dishwashing/pot-and-pan areas during and after service. Set up the dish machine and, if applicable, the pot-and-pan washing station. Direct, help train, and assist student employees in the dishwashing and pot-and-pan washing operations. Disassemble and clean/maintain the dish machine. Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and secure working area. Provide high-quality service to customers; assist in meeting the department’s customer service objectives. Help the department constantly improve and reach its vision (commitment to excellence and passion for people). Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $15 - $16.32 hourly
