Job Description:

Under the leadership of the department director and their assigned supervisor, the Food Service Worker I has a variety of duties. These may include, but are not limited to:

• Dishwashing, pot washing, environmental cleaning, sanitation, and waste disposal
• Bussing tables
• Delivery and retrieval of patient trays and/or carts
• Delivery of food and non-food supplies
• Stocking of food and non-food supplies
• Basic food and beverage production

Experience:

Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing) is required. Passing a basic reading and math test is required. The ability to work quickly and accurately is essential. Basic food and beverage production skills are required. Food service experience is preferred.

Education:

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education or experience in a related field is required.

Licensure/Certifications:

California Food Handler’s Card at the time of hire or within three months of employment.

Assigned Work Hours:

Per diem, varied days and shifts as needed. There are no guaranteed hours in a two-week pay period. This is not a full-time or part-time position.

Position Type:

Pay Range (based on years of applicable experience):

$23.94 to $32.01

The hours employees work determine when a shift differential is paid:

• Evening Shift Differential: $1.69/hour
• Night Shift Differential: $2.53/hour
