Job summary

UnityPoint Health - St. Luke's is hiring a Food Service Worker I to safely prepare, assemble, deliver, and clean patient meals during 6am-2:30pm shifts.

You will follow food safety guidelines and department procedures while supporting patient care and satisfaction. Responsibilities include delivering trays and nourishments, assisting in cafeteria service, stocking supplies, and maintaining a sanitary work environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in high school or equivalent; preferred High School Diploma/GED.
• Food Handler Certification; SERVSAFE upon hire.
• IA/IL Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training within 90 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and American Heart Association certifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, assemble, and deliver patient trays, snacks, and nourishments per diet specifications.
• Serve patients, guests, and cafeteria customers with excellent customer service.
• Follow portion control, cash handling, and regulatory standards (HIPAA, OSHA, TJC).
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including cleaning and sanitizing dishes, utensils, equipment, and carts.
• Stock patient units, retail areas, and storage rooms, and monitor food and equipment temperatures.
