Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Iowa is seeking a compassionate Food and Nutrition Services team member to assemble and deliver patient meal trays and nourishments, following diet guidelines and color-coded menus. This role acts as a liaison between the kitchen and patient care units to support patient health, recovery, and comfort.

The position requires English proficiency, prior food service experience preferred, and a Food Handler Certificate within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and deliver patient meal trays, including regular and modified diets.
• Follow color-coded menus and diet guidelines to ensure safe, accurate meals.
• Work as part of a team on the tray line to keep meal service running smoothly.
• Prepare and deliver nourishments and tube feedings according to standard procedures.
• Assemble and deliver late trays as needed.
• Stock, organize, and restock food and supplies throughout meal service.
• Assist with dish room duties, sanitation, and general kitchen support.
• Help in other areas of the department as needed (cafeteria, salads, pots & pans).
• Communicate food service concerns with kitchen leads, dietitians, and management.
