Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Full-time Food Service Worker (Cashier) to join the food services team in Norfolk, VA. The role includes day/evening shifts, every other weekend, and cashier duties as part of patient and visitor services.

Eligible candidates may receive up to a $1,000 sign-on bonus. A Food Handlers Card is required in Norfolk and HS diploma (or equivalent) is preferred.

Food Service Workers work Full-time, Rotating Shifts, working both day and evening shifts, and every other weekend.

Food Service Workers are essential members of the food services team who offer support to the team and contribute in multiple ways, such as delivering nutritious meals and providing excellent customer service to patients, staff, and visitors.

This position entails various responsibilities, including but not limited to preparing and assembling food according to dietary guidelines, safety and customer preferences, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, washing dishes, working as a cashier, meeting utility needs, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld. As a Food Service Worker with Sentara, you work in the different aspects of delivering food to the patients.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $18.02 - $26.54 hourly.
