Job summary

Munson Healthcare in Gaylord, MI is seeking a cafeteria associate to support daily food service operations. You will set up and stock the cafeteria, serve hot foods, monitor temperatures and quality, and assist customers with menu questions.

A high school diploma or GED is preferred; all employees must be vaccinated or have immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella, with flu vaccination compliance or approved exemption.

Qualifications

• Customer service and interpersonal skills are essential for assisting guests and coworkers.
• Knowledge of food ingredients and ability to suggest menu items.
• Ability to manage stock and maintain FIFO inventory.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and stocks cafeteria using FIFO; monitors food quality and stock levels.
• Serves and replenishes hot foods; monitors temperatures and quality.
• Cleans and sanitizes workstations, counters, steam tables and equipment.
• Interacts with customers/patients; answers questions about food and ingredients.
• Knowledgeable about the served foods, including suggestive selling.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Sets up and stocks cafeteria using FIFO, monitors quality of food & assure enough food & paper stock available. Responsible for brewing coffee, and keeping a good stock of beverages.
• Serves & replenishes hot food in cafeteria, including monitoring temperatures and quality of food. Areas include breakfast, lunch & dinner service.
• Cleans and sanitizes workstations, counters, steam tables and other equipment.
• Interacts with customers/patients throughout the day/evening. Helps answer questions about food, ingredients & special needs.
• Knowledgably about the food they are serving, including suggestive selling
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Additional Information

Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella.
