Job description

Positions available: Full‑time and part‑time Food Service Worker at Burke County Public School.

• Location: 412 Kirksey Drive, Morganton, NC 28655.
• Schedule: Monday through Friday. Full‑time and part‑time options; hours may vary.
• Pay: $14.75 per hour.
• Training: Willing to train.
• Benefits: Free shift meal, no weekends or holidays, internal employee referral bonus.
• Experience: Previous food service experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
• Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
• Store food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
• Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
• Utilize approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with company service standards, inventory, and cash control procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
