Job summary

Chartwells School Dining Services K12 in Silver Springs, NV, is seeking a full-time Food Service Worker to serve students at Lyon County School District. The role runs Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 1:30 PM, with a fixed hourly pay of $13.00.

Responsibilities include food prep, portion control, serving meals, maintaining safety and sanitation, and assisting with inventory and customer service. Prior school kitchen experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior school kitchen experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry food serving equipment.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Good communication skills and customer-service orientation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
• Carry pans, kettles and trays of food to and from workstations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
• Store food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Clean work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Utilize approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
• Assure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
