Job summary

PIH Health is seeking a dedicated food service worker to support patient meal services at our Whittier campus. You will follow standardized recipes, log temperatures, and assist with trayline set-up, service, and sanitation to ensure safe, accurate meal delivery to patients.

You will perform dishwashing and cleaning tasks, stock work areas, and adhere to HACCP standards while supporting the diet and nutrition team. Evening shifts may include routine duties across the patient dining area.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Six months experience in food services preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of modified diets helpful.

Responsibilities

• Serve patient meals on trayline and assist with meal service.
• Take and log hot and cold food temperatures on trayline and in storage areas.
• Load patient trays into carts and deliver to nursing stations.
• Perform dishwashing, cleaning and sanitation tasks per HACCP standards.

Job description

Performs a variety of tasks associated with the serving of patient meal trays, hot and cold entrees, salads, sandwiches, desserts and supplements. Takes and logs hot and cold food temps on trayline as well as dishmachine and refrigerator/freezer temps. Loads patient trays into meal carts and delivers meal carts/late trays for patients to nursing station. Performs a variety of cleaning tasks including detail cleaning, washing dishes, and pots and pans. Responsible for stocking and cleaning work areas. Works on patient trayline to include set-up and service as well as breakdown and sanitation. Complies with food safety (HACCP) standards. May be asked to do other tasks associated with food service as the need arises.
