Position Summary
The Food Service Worker may work anywhere on property where food is prepared. Responsibilities include assisting in setup, serving, cleaning, and sanitizing. Duties may vary based on business needs and client requirements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow recipes and product directions.
- Operate kitchen utensils for weighing, measuring, mixing, washing, peeling, cutting, grinding, stirring, straining, seasoning, and kneading food.
- Assist in preparing hot and cold foods, ensuring proper storage and temperature control.
- Inspect workstations for compliance with standards.
- Maintain records and requisition supplies/equipment.
- Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment per safety regulations.
- Conduct taste tests as needed.
- Set up stations with food and utensils, stock service areas.
- Serve and replenish food from counters and steam tables, break down stations post-meal.
- Prepare beverages like coffee and tea, restock as necessary.
- Assist in tray line operations and interact with customers.
- Wash dishes by hand or in dishwashing machines, clean kitchen surfaces.
- Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
- Transfer supplies within storage and work areas.
- Use chemicals properly for sanitation.
- Attend all required training on food safety and safety procedures.
- Report accidents and participate in safety assessments.
- Comply with HACCP policies and other safety standards.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisors.
- Maintain security clearances and adhere to safety, OPSEC, and property control procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements

- ServSafe Food Handler Certification.

Educational and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of relevant commercial food service experience.
Physical and Work Environment
Position requires prolonged standing, walking, manual dexterity, and ability to lift 25-50 pounds regularly, up to 100 pounds occasionally. Work may occur in extreme temperatures and noisy environments, with exposure to chemicals, moving parts, and other hazards. Visual and auditory demands are present.
