Responsibilities

• Delivers food trays to patient rooms and serves meals.
• Check patient trays before leaving kitchen to ensure all items ordered are present; max one error per day.
• Gather and deliver floor stock; rotate stock and discard outdated items.
• Wash dishes, pans, and utensils for patients, cafeteria and catering.
• Sanitize patient carts daily.
• Empty trash in the food service area.
• Ensure Dietary Department meets State, Medicare, and Joint Commission regulations.
• Attend and actively participate in department meetings.
• Other duties assigned.

Position: FOOD SERVICE WORKER

The Food Service Worker position is responsible for the delivery and service of patient meals, sanitation in food service department including dish washing, cart washing, pots and pan washing and emptying of trash. Follows strict sanitation guidelines set up by the State of Texas Health Department.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Delivers food trays to patient’s room, and provides service to include: pouring of beverages, removing plastic covering from food, and setting the food tray so that the patient is able to reach and eat the food.
• Check patient trays before leaving the kitchen area to assure that all items ordered are on the tray. No more than one error per day is accepted.
• Gather and deliver floor stock. Rotate stock when putting away in the refrigerator on the nurse unit. Discard any out dated products.
• Washes dishes, pans, and utensils for patients, cafeteria and catering.
• Sanitizes patient’s carts daily.
• Empties trash in the food service area.
• Assures that the Dietary Department meets the State, Medicare, The Joint Commission and other regulations.
• Regularly attends and actively participates in department meetings.
• Other duties assigned
