Job Description

The Food Services Worker reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

• Prepares cold food items and assists in support activities.
• THIS IS A CASUAL POSITION, meaning hours per week are not guaranteed. NO BENEFITS.
• Most shifts start at 12 noon or 3 PM.
• Every other weekend is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares cold food items for patients and cafeteria.
• Take Room Service orders, including patient, family, and employee-initiated orders, and assist patients as needed.
• Complete tray assembly and ensure food safety and sanitation regulations are met.
• Perform data entry using Microsoft Excel and basic cash handling.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Adhere to department policies and quality standards.
• Resolve service issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Complete daily checklists, cleaning duties, and documentation.
• Wash, sanitize, and store food service equipment and items.
• Assist with stock management using FIFO method.
• Demonstrate independent judgment when needed.

Qualifications

Required:

• Excellent customer service and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work under stress and take appropriate actions.
• Physical demands include lifting/carrying up to 12 pounds and pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.

Preferred:

• One year of customer service experience.
• Knowledge of diet restrictions.
