Air Mobility Command, Fairchild AFB, WA, seeks a Flex (Intermittent) Food Service Worker to perform a wide range of kitchen and service tasks in the dining facility. The role supports daily meal service with setup, food prep, service, and cleanup in a fast-paced environment.

Position is non-appropriated fund, with 0-40 hours per week depending on facility needs. Wage range is $18.76–$21.89 per hour; standard federal worksite policies apply. Applications open to the Public hiring path.

Responsibilities

• Sets up cafeteria lines, steam tables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food items.
• Serves food cafeteria style and cleans area after meals; sets up dining room tables for service and replenishes items as needed.
• Operates dishwashers; performs preventive maintenance and cleaning.
• Cleans bowls, pots and pans; cleans ceilings, hoods, floors, walls, and walk-in areas; unloads deliveries.
• Assembles and serves fresh fruit or salads; makes beverages; handles cashier duties and end-of-shift reports.

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 92 Force Support Squadron, Alder House, Fairchild AFB, WA. The purpose of this position is to perform a wide variety of manual tasks in food preparation and food service areas. This is a Flex (Intermittent) position; Guaranteed 0-40 hours per week; depending on the needs of the facility.

Key Responsibilities

Sets up cafeteria lines, steam tables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food items including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter and beverages. Serves food cafeteria style. Breaks down and cleans area when meals are complete. Sets up dining room tables for service, places food and beverages on tables and replenishes items as necessary. Sets up and operates dishwashers, performs preventive maintenance and cleaning.

Scrapes, soaks, scours and scrubs bowls, pots and pans. Also performs heave duty cleaning tasks such as ceilings, exhaust hoods, under and behind kitchen equipment, washes floors and walls, walk-in refrigerators and freezers, sanitizes garbage cans. May unload food from delivery trucks. Collects and transfers trash from work area to disposal area. Assembles and tosses fresh fruit or green salads in quantity using prepared dressings, serves into standard serving sizes.

Makes cold sandwiches using prepared ingredients. Makes Coffee, tea and other beverages. Performs cashier duties such as ringing up food, beverages and merchandise by individual item; totaling sales; processing credit card sales; receiving money and making change. Also responsible for preparing cashier reports at end of shifts. Performs other related duties as assigned.
