Job summary

Trinity Services Group is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee inmate labor and kitchen staff inside a jail/correctional facility. You will prepare and serve meals following menus and recipes, using a variety of kitchen equipment and utensils to meet nutritional needs.

Reporting to the Food Service Director, you will train workers, promote a safe work environment, and ensure meals are served on schedule. Prior institutional food service experience is preferred; HS diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; at least 18 years old.
• Preferred institutional food service or restaurant experience.
• Experience with food handling regulations and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and kitchen staff during food prep and service.
• Serve meals according to planned schedules and procedures.
• Use utensils and equipment to prepare and portion meals as recipes dictate.
• Train other food service workers and ensure safety practices.
• Maintain a healthy and safe work environment for staff and inmates.
• Stand for long periods and perform physical tasks as required.

About This Position

$14.00/hour + $500 new hire bonus

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

• Required:
  • We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 18 years of age.

  • We prefer prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
