Job summary

Trinity Services Group is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee inmate labor and kitchen teams inside a jail/correctional facility. You will prepare and serve a variety of meals following menus and operate kitchen equipment to meet nutritional needs.

You report to a Food Service Director and work on site. Ideal candidates are passionate about food, understand food handling regulations, and thrive in a team setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 18+ years old.
• Preferred institutional food service or restaurant experience.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and work in a correctional facility.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and kitchen staff during prep and service.
• Serve meals according to scheduled times and procedures.
• Use kitchen equipment to prepare and portion meals per recipes and nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a safe, healthy work environment for staff and inmates.
• Stand, lift, bend, push and move for extended periods as required.

About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

• Required:
  • We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 18 years of age.
• Preferred:
  • We prefer prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
