Job Overview:

The Food Service Worker performs routine tasks in all food service areas to prepare equipment and foods for service according to standard practices and procedures, complies with regulatory requirements, and ensures customer needs and satisfaction are met.

Qualifications:

Preferred:

• Prior experience in food service

Scheduling Requirements:

• Hours vary, such as 5:00am-1:30pm and 10:30am-7:00pm
• Rotating weekends
• Per Diem

Essential Functions:

• Adheres to attendance and reliability standards, providing proper notification for absence or tardiness
• Assists in hot/cold food portioning and serving meals in the cafeteria and on units
• Assists in tray setup and cleans food carriers after use
• Delivers meals to patient care units and assists patients when possible
• Performs general cleaning duties, maintains cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and supplies
• Operates cash register, collects cash/meal tickets, and makes change as needed
• Participates in cleaning schedules and maintains a clean work environment
• Reconciles cash accurately, responsible for overage/shortage of $3.00
• Performs heavy cleaning duties, including scrubbing pots, pans, utensils, and equipment
• Sets up menu boards, refills and stocks condiments, and maintains dining area cleanliness
• Follows work assignments and performs other duties as assigned
