About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor (Shift Supervisor) prepares and serves food according to instructions and menus, utilizing various utensils and machines. Ideal candidates are passionate about food and service, understand food handling regulations, eager to learn, and dependable.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities
  • Supervise inmate labor and/or team members during food prep and service shifts
  • Assist or instruct in preparing various food items following standards and recipes
  • Follow safety and cleanliness practices in meal preparation and serving
  • Perform other duties as needed
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED, at least 18 years old
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for long periods
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience in institutional food service or restaurants is a plus
  • ServSafe Food Handler certification preferred (training provided, additional $0.25/hr)
