Job summary

Baptist Health System is seeking a dedicated food service professional for Saint Luke's Hospital. The role involves patient tray preparation, catering, and retail service within a collaborative healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Preferred: High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Required: ANSI Accredited Texas Food Handler or ANSI Accredited Food Manager certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties for patient tray preparation, retail sales and catering.
• Assembles patients’ trays and transports to units.
• Delivers trays and snacks to the patient and sanitizes all equipment.
• Cleans, sanitizes dishes, and maintains a safe work environment.
• Adheres to local, state, and federal regulations and supports improvement activities.

Job Summary

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus
Under general supervision performs various jobs for patient food preparation. Completes established competencies for the position
within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned

Responsibilities

General Functions:
Performs duties for patient tray preparation, retail sales and catering
Assembles patients’ trays
Chops, slices and peels food
Transports carts to and from the different units
Delivers trays and snacks to the patient
Transports food to other areas as needed
Washes pots and pans by hand and by machine
Cleans and sanitizes dishes
Operates, cleans and sanitizes necessary equipment
Sweeps and mops all areas of the department
Collects and disposes of trash
Stocks and cleans nourishment rooms/refrigerators as assigned
Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations
Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
Maintains safe work environment
Addresses patient population-specific needs
Participates in Performance Improvement activities

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: None
PREFERRED EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: NA
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year in patient-feeding food service establishment
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: ANSI Accredited Texas Food Handler or ANSI Accredited Food
Manager course or Certified Food Manager from the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District
