Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation (THTBC) is seeking a Food Service Worker to support DFAC operations at Fairfield, PA, with a Secret security clearance and on-site shifts. The role involves food prep, serving, cashiering, and maintaining sanitary conditions in a high-volume environment.

Experience in military dining facilities and ServSafe certification are preferred. Health & Welfare benefits, on-site duties, and a strong emphasis on safety and compliance are offered.

Qualifications

• 1 year of food service or kitchen experience preferred.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe certification.
• Must complete Food Service Medical Clearance.
• Must work with allergens (nuts, dairy, other).
• Must obtain interim Secret security clearance and maintain fully adjudicated Secret clearance.
• Must possess REAL ID-compliant ID for employment.
• Must have a valid, safe driving record for operating vehicles/equipment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers professionally.
• Set up dining and serving areas with food, utensils, and condiments.
• Serve meals on main lines and speed lines; assist with salad and beverage stations.
• Maintain cleanliness of food prep areas, serving lines, dining areas, and equipment.
• Operate dishwashing equipment and clean dishes and kitchen tools.
• Prepare basic items like sandwiches and salads; assist with special orders.
• Restock supplies and cleaning products as needed.
• Handle cashiering duties and provide correct change.
• Cross-train for custodial and other duties to support DFAC operations.
• Follow all food safety, safety, and company requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About the Role

The Food Service Worker supports Dining Facility (DFAC) operations by preparing, serving, and handling food; maintaining clean and sanitary work areas; and supporting efficient food service operations in accordance with applicable Army standards, contractual requirements, and company policies and procedures.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Greet and assist customers in a professional and courteous manner.
• Prepare and set up dining and serving areas with food, utensils, condiments, and other required supplies.
• Serve meals on main serving lines, speed lines, and short-order areas and assist with salad, beverage, and other food service stations.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation areas, serving lines, dining areas, equipment, and workspaces.
• Operate dishwashing equipment and manually clean dishes, silverware, cookware, kitchen tools, and related equipment.
• Perform basic food preparation, including preparing sandwiches, salads, baked goods, and other menu items, and assist with special orders as required.
• Restock food service supplies, paper products, cleaning products, and other materials as needed.
• Perform cashiering duties, including processing payments and providing correct change.
• Crosstrain and assist with custodial and other operational duties as required to support DFAC operations.
• Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, occupational safety, security, company, and worksite requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

• One (1) year of previous food service or kitchen experience in a full-service or high-volume environment is preferred.
• Previous experience working in a military dining facility (DFAC) is preferred.Must be able to obtain and maintain required ServSafe certification.
• Must satisfactorily complete and maintain required Food Service Medical Clearance in accordance with applicable Tri-Service Food Code requirements.
• Must be able to work in an environment where food products and common food allergens, including nuts, dairy, and other allergens, are stored, prepared, handled, and served.
• Must be able to obtain an interim Secret security clearance and maintain the required fully adjudicated Secret security clearance throughout employment.
• Must possess and maintain a valid, REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or identification card as a condition of employment and to meet worksite access requirements.
• Must possess and maintain a safe driving record to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
• Must comply with applicable dress, grooming, personal hygiene, food safety, sanitation, security, and worksite requirements.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

• Must be able to work varying schedules based on operational and mission requirements, including on-call, alternate, and extended shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Work is performed primarily in a fast-paced commercial kitchen and dining facility environment and may involve exposure to heat, cold, noise, wet or slippery surfaces, kitchen equipment, sharp utensils, cleaning chemicals, and food products.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities including pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, standing, walking, and reaching for extended periods as required to perform the essential functions of the position.
• To meet contractual and mission requirements, employees may be required to remain on‑site for extended periods during scheduled exercises, emergency conditions, or real-world events, including periods of up to 24‑hours when required.

US Pay Range

$17.75 — $17.75 USD
